By on January 6th, 2014 in science kits

09:18 – It’s currently drizzling and just a few degrees above freezing. The temperature is forecast to fall all day long until it reaches the mid-single digits around dawn tomorrow. We may have some snow and freezing rain today, but with little to no accumulation, so Barbara is going to drive her car to work.

I submitted the application for the S.P.A.R.K. Competition yesterday, or at least I think I did. It’s a web-fill form with two buttons at the bottom: “Save Copy of Draft” and “Submit as Final”. When I clicked on the latter yesterday, it refreshed the screen and gave me the same message it’d been giving me all along when I saved a copy of the draft. So I think I’ve submitted the final, but I’m not certain. I’ll email them today to verify that I’ve completed the application. The deadline is tomorrow.

I’d better get to work on building more kits. We’re low on all of them.

Where is AlGore when you need him?

Where is Al Gore when you need him?

He is working on his next film about global cooling. Got to find something to fleece the pockets of others.

Actually, Tiny Town is in better shape that I have ever seen it. Even the alley next to Tiny House has been plowed, and that is the first time in 4 years I have ever seen that happen.

Apparently, Indianapolis is not faring so well, as my doctor comes from there, and his office called today to cancel tomorrow’s appointment. Apparently, Indianapolis residents have been ordered to stay at home for the next 2 days. The stay-at-home order for Tiny Town was lifted last night. Obviously, the girls in the doctor’s office here in Tiny Town got to work, but the doctor can’t.

Just a couple degrees above zero right now, with -15 predicted for tonight.

I find it ironic that the online map from the Indiana Department of Homeland Insecurity currently shows that travel is banned in the county where Chuck lives and the county where I live. Our street has already had snow removed. It still shows that authorities are advising against travel in Marion County.

Are you going to cover him in pitch and use him as a heating lamp?

    Would that not smell?

  7. Chuck W says:

    No worse than Uncle Remus.

No one is staying home here. No travel ban by local authorities. That is all I care about. I have not gone anywhere, but all my neighbors have been out and about today, just like normal—although the construction guys behind me did not go to a job today. They just stayed home and warmed up their cars every hour or so.

I’m not sure if that URL will work or not.

Bonus points if you know the movie of origin of that photo.
