Wed. May 27, 2026 – time to get back to it

Hmmm, national forecast for yesterday was wrong, so I hope today is wrong too. Rain and t-storms possible. I’d prefer the sun and clear sky of yesterday.

Of course, with me having ‘taken to my bed’ I can’t really complain if I wasted the nice days and now have less than nice days to do what I need to do. I will anyway. Complaining about the weather is a universal right.

Since I’ve been ignoring my, well, everything for the last several days, I’ve got some catching up to do even if I’m not 100%. One of those things is picking up an 86″ monitor and getting it back to my shop. Yeah, that’s a big motha, and it’s industrial build quality so it’s heavy too. I’ve got a couple of other pickups to make this week and my client needs a troubleshooting visit too.

My ability to do anything next week is constrained. More on that later, but I have a couple of things that I need to do this week.

And there is always more to do, even if I kept up with the list, which I haven’t.

Stack. It’s the easiest.

    Wednesday. Good morning!

Good luck with your return to the land of the living, Nick.

Busy work day today. Several meetings, although they ought to be the useful kind, rather than the “I want to look busy and important, so you must attend my meeting, which will needlessly interfere with your actual work and should anyway have been an email” kind. We’ll see …

It is still way too hot. 26C in my nice “cool” basement at 10am.

I wanted to mow the edges of the lawn, where the robot doesn’t reach, in the relative coolth early this morning. Despite the heat, the grass was heavy with dew. No point trying to mow that, the cuttings just clump up. I will have to do it this evening instead.

    Have a beautiful day!

My kids have been taught in school that white people have no culture.   Literally none.

    That is just not right.

    US-American people have no culture.

    FIFY 😉

Seriously, though. That level of bald-faced indoctrination is appalling. Where do the teachers think western civilisation came from?

    Waymo troubles…

    Still no Johnny Cab.

    Bah.

    Stolen from Wakanda, duh.

When one is embedded in the culture, I suppose one takes it for granted. Whereas other cultures are obvious, because of their differences to the one they are embedded in. Still, it shows not only the level of indoctrination of most teachers, but also their generally low intelligence.

Education majors have nearly the lowest SAT scores of any college major. Fields with lower scores than education are not college degrees – things like agricultural operation, construction trades, security services, etc.. The one exception I see: “ethnic, culture and gender studies” rank lower then education, and I suppose those are college degrees. Supposedly.

The “best and brightest” are not the ones educating your children.

We need to get off these voting machines.  The county voting database server crashed in the middle of the voting today and people could not register their ballots.  Apparently some people got very upset and deservedly so.

The Republicans got rid of the machines in Williamson County for the primary, but both the touch screens and ballot scanners were back for the runoff election.

And Mayes Middleton, a true conservative, nailed Chip Roy, a RINO pretending to be a conservative.  Chip Roy voted to impeach Trump and that is all I need to know.

When did Roy vote to impeach Trump?

I saw those commercials nightly on the local Faux News.

    Middleton smells like a RINO.

I, with my 70’s engineering degree, chose to read widely, and I bet my coursework included more dead white men than a modern liberal arts degree covers.  Just my German literature classes covered Nietzsche, Thomas Mann, Herman Hesse, Goethe.  There was extracurricular reading as well.

    I believe we’ve lost much.

Engineering degrees are all about the paper and opportunity for a diverse workforce.

In other news, a review of WWII records showed that 5 out of 6 Jews requested euthanization from “Father Adolf” and the remainder probably did as well but the paperwork has been lost.

The late, great, Mr. OFD said it for posterity: “The commies took over without firing a shot.” I don’t think a day goes by in the FUSA public school system where a teacher spouts commie propaganda on social media. The sheeple need to start a culling of commies.
