Cool and clear again. Yea! I’m all for another day like yesterday. Cool, dry by Houston standards, and then warm later. It was beautiful to drive around with the windows down and be comfortable. Moar!

I didn’t get anywhere near the number of things done that I wanted to get done. I did pickup two auctions, stop by my secondary location and load up the truck with either scrap or salvage, and visit the chiropractor. There were a couple of kid taxi duties in there too. Kid2 is suddenly scatterbrained. I blame boys.

Today I’ve got a plan. Costco for a TV, then The Woodlands for a pickup (the cheater selling fake trijicons), then my client to install said TV, then a pickup on the way home, and finally a visit to the bone crack quack.**

We’ll see what the universe throws in my path.

It’s all about preps and money, which is a prep too.

Cool and clear again, but not cold like yesterday. My guess anyway. 52F when I went to bed. It was a beautiful day, if you don’t mind long pants and a jacket. I even took the jacket off in the afternoon.

I did my pickup. Then met the fumigator. Then did my troubleshooting at my client’s house. Then took the pickup and unloaded at the shop. Chiropractor. Dinner. Kid taxi. Busy day.

Today I will rest if I still hurt, and get another adjustment. If I feel better, I should head to the shop and do some intake on the stuff that is piling up.

One of the things I won was a manual pump lift table/cart that should make working on things like generators much less painful and a lot easier on my back. I also got an industrial belt sander/grinder like the knife makers use. I had a tiny one, but now I’ve got a bigger one.

I’ve got a list, we’ll see if we get any of it done.

Could just be a stacking day.

And a cold one it will be. Mid 40sF when I went to bed, and supposed to get close to freezing. I don’t know if that happened, until I get up this morning. Schrodingers thermometer… Supposed to be clear in any case.

I didn’t get much done yesterday. I was having a bit of back pain, and couldn’t get motivated. I did some office stuff, but mostly didn’t do much.

Today, I’ve got a full plate. Pickup at 9am. Termite guy on the other side of town at 1130. Client at 1pm. Kid taxi at 615. Hardly a minute for a Shamrock Shake. I hope my back is feeling better, because that much sitting in the driver’s seat will be pretty painful if not.

Meh, it is what it is, and I don’t have time to mess around any more.

The apocalypse won’t wait for my back to feel better, and I’ve delayed and coddled long enough. It does kinda suck but it reconfirms that I can go hard one day but will lose the next. I’m not a kid anymore.

Well, maybe today will be cold. Yesterday was pretty nice. Hot even in the sun, and late afternoon. Sunny, warm, clear… But today we’re supposed to get that cold front. Still in the 70sF when I went to bed, but the wind was gusting. It might have gotten here, I’ll see when I get up.

Did a couple of things on the list yesterday. See yesterday’s comments if interested. I woke with a very sore back, but something moved, and I felt better – just ordinary pain. So of course I spent the afternoon kneeling, sitting, laying down, and working in the dark dim.

Today I’ve got a pickup in the morning, and then I might switch trucks and head to my client’s house. He’s having an issue I need to see to troubleshoot. It’s the end of the quarter, and I promised myself I’d bill quarterly this year. I figured I might get one more service call in…

There’s some office stuff I need to do too. I am getting an alternative quote for my insurance that I need to go through, and I’ve got some hobby stuff to do too. I might shift my client visit to Tuesday. We’ll see.

The world isn’t getting any saner, so get some stuff stacked.

And carry your defensive tools, and a stop the bleed kit.

Cold? Supposed to get down to freezing last night as a front moves in. IDK, because I’m asleep. Probably and hopefully. Clear and cold is on the forecast. Yesterday was very nice after a cool start. 85F in the sun in the early afternoon. Dunno where we’ll end up today.

I had my hobby meeting. It was productive. We’re already starting on the Fall show, which is good. And the search for a new meeting place continues.

I had too much sugar for lunch and took a nap for most of the afternoon and did NOTHING on the list. Hopefully my back is feeling better today and I can get some stuff done.

Should be a really nice day today. Clear, moderately warm, even a bit of lowered humidity. Yesterday was like that and it was great. I’m really hoping… and I’m right at least as often as the pros.

Spent yesterday doing my pickups, and the rest of the task list at the rent house. Spent part of that time chatting with my renter’s dad. Nice guy. I was actually waiting for the washer and dryer to run a cycle so I was sure they were working (connected) properly. It’s not rocket science, but I don’t want a water or gas leak. Everything was fine.

Today I’ve got my non-prepping hobby, meeting for the first time in a new (hopefully temporary) space. We’ve already been impacted by normal church operations as they have a funeral today and we will be adjusting to accommodate them. One of the downsides of borrowed spaces, especially in churches.

After that, I’ll be working the list.

And it’ll be a chilly Friday the 13th… although it is supposed to be sunny and clear for the next few days. That will be nice. I guess a couple more cool days before Spring really gets going are kinda nice.

It was nice and cool yesterday when I was working on the porch at the rent house. I got some of my list taken care of. I’ll be back there today to get the rest done. Oh, except for the termite treatment and replacing some damaged columns… I might just try to hire the replacement work. It’s deductible against any profit from rent, which should work out like a 33% discount.

Had a long chat with the sister while I was working. Someone is paying her for the legal work. Wonder if it’s Soros? That would be ironic since he’s the epitome of ‘the patriarchy.’

I also did some personal maintenance before I left the house yesterday, cutting my hair and shaving. Trimmed my eyebrows too. Freaking things are going wild. Getting old is weird.

Today I’ve got two pickups and the finishing up at the rent house to get done. I’ve got my hobby meeting this weekend so I’m not going to the BOL. W might go, but the kids have stuff at home.

I know my list is long and I won’t have any trouble finding stuff to do here.

Moist. Wet. Humid. Muggy. All probably good adjectives today. Still some chance of rain too. Yesterday threatened all day and someone got lots, but I didn’t see any. I did see a storage facility with 6″ of standing water around the units. And the ground was so saturated that landscaping rock was under 1″ of water…

That was when I was out and about doing pickups and digging through other people’s rubbish at thrift stores… I did get a few other things done before leaving the house, but not a ton.

Today I’ll be getting my stuff together to do the work at the rent house. First, gather tools as my plumbing bucket and my electrical bucket are at the BOL. Then install the new battery in the truck. Then do one pickup near the secondary location, get some supplies from the secondary, and go to the rental. Do some work. Head home. Contrary to what I thought, W will taxi the kid around both to and fro. That leaves me to actually have a chance of getting stuff done. Goody.

There’s a list. It gets bigger and bigger. I don’t understand how people can run out of stuff to do as they get older.
