07:57 – I finished the third and final lab session in the forgery group yesterday, and also finished the re-write on the Preface and Lab Safety chapters. All I have left other than the forensic biology lab group are the chapters on equipment and chemicals and lab procedures.

I hope everyone had a good mother’s day. I played Mexican Train with Mom and my wife last night until 1 am. Then played again this afternoon after church and lunch (yes, I bought lunch !). I am Train’d out !

I really enjoy still having my mother around.

My mum lives in Adelaide, 750 km away as the hawk flies, but the rest of my family live there so she was invited to my sister’s place where they had lunch, dinner and almost all of the family around, including her three great grand children. I gave her a call last night and chatted for a while. She can be quite hard to catch during the day.

She’s 88, but in remarkably good shape, her mind’s still there and she gets around reasonably well, but has to use a walking frame. She’s outlived my father by nearly 15 years. I remember her saying in her early seventies “I won’t make old bones.” But she’s still going strong.
