Hot and humid. It’s been slightly less of both, and I mean slightly, but maybe we’ve turned the corner on Summer. Another two weeks or so and I’ll be sure. Given how long and mild Spring was, and that we really didn’t have many days over 100F, I shouldn’t be complaining about the heat and humidity. But I will anyway.
Did my stuff yesterday. Returned the rental trailer. Hit two thrift stores that I’ve never been in, but they were right next to the Uhaul store. I got some LP records (and was reminded that LP stands for Long Playing) and a couple of shirts. Didn’t take long and I need some shirts and some new shorts.
Then I switched trucks, grabbed a couple of tools, and headed over to the shop to get the ebay industrial item ready for pickup. Good thing I got the timing right, because just as I was tightening the last ratchet strap, the truck pulled up. Totally unexpected, because they were supposed to give me a two hour heads up… but my phone number was wrong on the paperwork. Anyway, got it shipped out, used the special code to complete the sale on the ebay app, and the money should hit my account shortly. One down, many to go.
Today I’ll work the list. Plenty to pick and choose from. It’s just a matter of what is doable, what fits the time, and what catches my eye or is MOVED to the top of the list. And something usually moves without my intervention.
Anyway, keep working to improve your situation, and keep stacking what you need to do so.

Another day in Germany. Walked around Freidrechsdorf. Nice little town with a couple of unique shops so we spent a little money.
Slept really lousy last night. The combination of the time change (6 hours), different bed, and different environment wreaks havoc with my sleep.
Tomorrow is a 4.5 hour journey to another town for two nights. We have to change trains three times. Not something I like but little choice. We chose times, and trips, that maximize the use of ICE trains.
I’ve seen the message while on my phone, but I’m out of 4G/5G bandwidth until the end of the month so I figured it was a problem related to that condition.

74F and 94%RH. Looks like light overcast. Yesterday started out with light overcast but it burned off pretty quickly. We did get some clouds late in the day, and I took advantage of that to mow the back yard.

Got my ebay funds released. The way they handle local pickups is like an escrow service.

Lunch is in the bag, tea is in my mug. Girls are moving and various smells are filling the house. There is a lot of fragrance in their “products”.

Another day of thunderstorms here, supposedly, but a drop of 10F to a highs of about 95, for the rest of the week, which will be nice.
Weathern was bad enough to have the FAA declare a ground stop in SoCal yesterday.
Nothing but brief showers on the valley floor here, alas.
Sigh, another day and another nap. This adjustment is getting harder on each trip, probably due to age. Getting old sucks and is not for wimps. Just ask Mr. Lynn to confirm my scientific assertion.
Weather has been great, no complaints.
Tomorrow we leave about 08:25 for the four hour trip to Hövelhof. We have to change trains three times. We did limit ourselves to two suitcases, on carry-on and one backpack. It is still annoying to have to lug the stuff around.
I did one suitcase for 10 days in LA in the Spring and ended up having to buy a pair of jeans in Palm Springs.
Something was on the jeans which resulted in a skin infection on the back of one knee that I‘n still trying to get cleared.
Last Kohl’s before Coachella eastbound on I 10 near Desert Hot Springs in the morning of the Friday before the big festival. Lesson learned.
Fat Amish Chick says she won’t leave office no matter if tRump fired her. A quick ai search says she makes $225K a year. No wonder someone nobody has heard of or knows what the Hell she does, won’t leave.

Sorry for the double post. The web server is acting up still. And I am still on the toad and do not have website editing capabilities.

@lynn, how did the election turn out?
Well there’s a problem. Is there ever a season to wear pants in Palm Springs?

Yup, seeing intermittent issues.

Ribbit, ribbit.
Taylor Swift engaged -at that level you must be so careful not to just have found a great actor-cum-golddigger. Good for her, if she found the real thing.
Stupidly busy day today, or maybe I am getting lazy in my old age. Next to half-a-day of teaching I ran a zillion different errands. One of which was the appointment for contact lenses. The optician told me flat-out: this isn’t going to work, because your astigmatism makes the curvature too much for soft lenses to deal with. He figures the lenses just won’t sit right, because of the curvature require. However, he then said “we offer a free trail, so let’s try anyway”. So I ordered the lenses, and we’ll see in about two weeks.
Tomorrow, I want to get some serious garden work done – I have a couple of projects that are “almost” finished. Then we get a pile of rain starting tomorrow night, so nothing more will get done until Saturday at the earliest.
finally an voice in the wilderness.

@lynn, how did the election turn out?
They said one of the seats was tied so they have to redo the election in a few months. The old board stays in place for the time being.
Sounds like a scam to me. And the seat that was won is not being filled either. No results being posted at all. Very suspicious.
Yes. March.
Plus, semi Fancy Lad dining with a group of doctors. Jeans were a minimum, but clean was more important.
It turned out that plans changed and the jeans went home unworn, store tags attached.
I wore them to work the next week, and that’s when the fun started.
Nice store, even if the clientele needed fumigation before entering. Most of the Kohl’s here are trashed.
Florida law does not allow HOA elections to be secret ballot.
At least that used to be the case.
“Google to Block Sideloading of Apps From Unverified Developers”

“Google compares the move to an ID check at the airport, and says it’s aimed at tackling harmful apps. It launches next year, but you can request early access now.”
Google is making a walled garden. Like Apples. Only high end developers will be allowed.
At least they are being open about it now instead of using Epic Games as a stalking horse to try and get Apple’s walled garden banned by court order.
Facebook was in on that action as well. Zuckerdroid wants to own the iPhone like he does Android users’ phones.
Anyone can experiment with app development on iOS. Distribution is where money gets involved.
Of course, like they say on “Ratatouille”, “Anyone can cook.”
Peak Pixar. Much wisdom is contained in that flick.
They left out being a sanctimonious vegan prig.

Yeah, but this was so secret that even the results are secret. This is not cool and is illegal if you ask me.
Fourteen-Year-Old Scottish Girl Arrested for Resisting Probable Assault by Migrants

We need a fast-track permanent visa program for people wanting to leave places like the UK and South Africa.
At the same time, we need to cut off immigration from a lot of other places. Start by counting all illegal aliens against the lawful quotas of their countries of origin. Then look at the criminal behavior of legal and illegal immigrants, and zero the quotas from countries that produce criminals above the median.
As far as the 14-year-old in the article linked above, offer her a visa. The same progs that are all-in on gender mutilation can’t possible have an objection to allowing children of the same age to simply chose where they would like to live.

Sounds like an unlawful order. The response should be administrative leave pending dismissal.
Robert is not doing his job. The court system is a banana republic of PLT “resistance” and is far past the point where it has brought dishonor on itself. If Roberts isn’t up to providing the leadership that it takes, he needs to step down in favor of a new chief justice of be removed.
We already have numerous examples of violent criminal illegal aliens who have been released so they can prey on more citizens. It’s only a matter of time before someone decides to apply the Teddy Fay* solution.
*recurring character in Stuart Woods novels. I used to enjoy reading them, but one of the giant defects was the base corruption of the Democrat politicians. The story arc of Fay is a primary example. Woods’ character Stone Barrington describes himself as a “yellow-dog Democrat” and it’s obviously Wood’s own voice.

Cracker Barrel folded on its new logo after tRump told them how to make money. I hope they stop the remodel stuff and fire the AWFL CEO. She will get a golden parachute, though. I wonder how many businesses she has ruined.
“Study warns of possible link between world’s most popular painkiller and autism”

“Tylenol might help alleviate a mother’s pain, but it could possibly prove a real headache for her unborn child.”
Not good if true.
Tylenol is nasty stuff. OD and there is no treatment, just a drawn out and painful death. Use as an alcoholic or heavy drinker will destroy your liver.
Unfortunately for me, given some other stuff I’m taking, it’s my only non-narcotic choice when I need a little bit more pain relief.
With teen girls in the house, I wouldn’t have it here at all, except that it’s the only choice for me. Still, I try to only have small bottles available. IDK if I’d call for banning it, but if it turns out to be damaging to kids, the company won’t exist to keep making it.

@Gavin, which one?
Can we have one for Canada too? Because I think it’s going to be needed.
From the 25th regarding Trump’s injured hand. I shouldn’t have said nowhere. It hits Dr. Wolfe’s Substack page but there doesn’t seem to be an article about that.
Everyone she has touched.
Currently on the ICE from Frankfurt to Köln. Yes, there is WiFi, and it works. Two nights in Hövelhof. Another strange bed and environment. We have there before and the stairs to the room we sleep in are steep, narrow, and not for the faint of heart. They would get banned in the U.S>
