Netflix’s costs can rise a LOT before they approach DirecTV. I am paying $88/month for HD service with local channels and no extra pay channels (starz, hbo, etc). I have thought many times about canceling my DirecTV and moving to rabbit ears and Netflix. But their are so many good new shows on the “cable” channels nowadays (“The Walking Dead”, “Falling Skies”, “Covert Affairs”, “White Collar”, “Burn Notice”, “In Plain Sight”, etc).
Speaking of Peter O’Toole, I have been watching The Tudors recently, and in the second season he plays the Holy Father of that time. The bugger still has those amazing blue eyes. And I have fallen in love with Maria Doyle Kennedy; I knew I’d seen her somewhere before and it was The Committments. This must be old nooz to those of U who have had cable all this time, but I am just now in the process of hooking up our home theater/media system via a Western Digital set-top box, etc. Taking longer than I’d thought, but so far, so good, after some initial glitches and shoddy DVD player manufactured in Red Chiner by dissident slave labor, no doubt.

Is Walking Dead back on? I kinda liked that. Oh, and saw the oddest brit comedy last night on Netflix: ANything with Peter O’Toole can’t be that bad.
