Well, it did get into the mid 80sF yesterday and was still 70F in the middle of the night. Humidity was high too. Nice enough for sitting out for my nightly ritual though. I am hoping for a bit cooler, or drier, or both today.
Did auction stuff yesterday morning, and then later in the day I finally got out and did more body work on the cart. Since the piece of plastic I chose (from what was in my stacks) wasn’t actually PVC (sintra brand, like I thought) but some sort of thermoplastic, it did form well with heat, but didn’t bond with solvent based PVC glue. I’ve been shaping it to reinforce and fill the side of the cart body that burned away. I had one more piece to fit yesterday and then I could glue it all in place. I’ll add a 2mm piece of plastic to fill the part that was missing and level the patch to the rest of the body. I’ve got some white PVC ceiling tiles I’ll try, or I’ll go to a commercial plastic supplier nearby and see what ‘drops’ they have for sale. Used to be able to get all kinds of good stuff from them.
Anyway, I did some final tweaks to the very complex shape that replaced the rounded corner and I glued everything in place. I used screws as an alternative to clamping as I can fill the holes later. I really hope the new sticks to the old. I’m using Sika 252 which is a moisture cure, sandable, paintable body panel adhesive used in transportation (meaning they use it to glue truck bodies and boxes together, among other things. I used it on a scenic project like body filler or caulk, so I know how it sets up, and how it performs. I think. In any case, I’ll find out soon enough.
Then I did some auction stuff, read, and spent far too much time on youtube. The time change messed up my sense of how late it was.
Anyway, keep working, keep stacking.

Something which hadn’t occurred to me, though it should have because I’ve gone through it three times already, is that the return to Normal Time means that my morning alarm goes off before 0500 again. Not that it matters much, since I’m almost always awake anyway.
I’m going to have the chickens spend at least a few hours in their Winter digs, where I can watch from the window by my desk. More to the point, I can see if they find a way to escape. The run should be nicely closed up but the bothersome punks keep finding a way out. They need their freeeeeeeeeeeedommmmmmmmmmm! Almost as much as they need raisins and other treats.
The races for Senate and Governor in Texas would have been over at that point, and the video would have gone viral nation-wide.
They’ve wanted a pretty white martyr for at least a decade, preferably killed by law enforcement but they will accept a “MAGA hat” assailant.
As is, the agent exhibits “Show Ya” swagger which isn’t a good look.
Monday. Good morning!
Not a work day for me, so the search for the BOL garage floor continues. I think progress is being made. At least, many items that had just been parked on the first available surface, including the floor, have found their way to where they ought to be, or where they are kind of, sort of, put away.
In other news, I can (should) now stop buying rope and other cordage when I see it cheap. After consolidating two or three smaller containers, I now have a big bin full of stringy stuff. Perhaps I need to take up decorative knotting.
I have also lined up near the door lots of items that can go to the recycling park tomorrow. It is not open on Mondays.
It’s a great life, if one doesn’t weaken.
