Hot, humid, wet, who knows? We got a ton of rain yesterday in various parts of Houston, and barely any in others. Maybe we’ll get some today, maybe not. But it still will be hot and humid. That I’m pretty sure of.
Did my auction stuff in the morning, then did pickups in the afternoon. Got a bunch of stuff for the aquatic side of the BOL. Some other stuff to add to the stacks. Some cheap stuff just in case.
Today I’ve got kid taxi duty as D1 is likely to be home sick. Then I’ll get her to the doc in the box. W has a business trip and won’t be home until Sat. Lots of school activities this week and weekend. I’m going to be busy.
And I’m trying to keep some momentum on my own projects. So I’ll be squeezing those in between the other stuff. I have a feeling I won’t be napping.
It’s a great life if you don’t falter.

Best wishes for D1’s speedy recovery. Reminds me to make an appointment to see my GP one of these days and get some prescriptions renewed.
Busy, busy. Squeezing three days’ work into a half-day today, plus packing for travel this afternoon. I am flying with hand-luggage only, and limited to 8kg, so I need to be a bit selective, especially so as to leave some capacity for shopping on the trip.
Vienna is about the last European capital that still has individual retailers in the city-centre, as opposed to just more branches of the same chains that one sees in every city. There will be opportunities to get stuff that is unique, or hard to find elsewhere.
The forecast is for Indian summer weather, so I don’t need to worry about warm clothes or raingear, which helps a lot. On the other hand, I might need a pair of shorts!
Charging my Kindle Paperwhite for the airport and the flight, and I will take along a disposable dead-tree paperback.

I made a phone call to the tax office yesterday to request some paperwork. This morning, I had a – really rather good – phishing email in my inbox about “confirm your bank details for a tax rebate”. I never had such before.
