Fri. Oct. 23, 2026 – suddenly it’s Friday again

By on October 23rd, 2026 in culture, decline and fall, march to war

And again, I’m hoping that the beautiful days continue. We did get into the low 90sF yesterday, and it was mostly clear and sunny. Light breezes kept it nice all day. More please.

Did auction stuff in the morning, then worked on my golf cart project. Made a lot of progress on the body work. I decided that having a big hole in the side was bad, considering that it kept the fire to a limited area in the first place. If I screw up and there is another fire, having it contained by the body seems prudent. With that in mind, and because it’s definitely easier without the controls in place, I moved it up the list. I want the structure there, even if I save the cosmetics for after it is a moving cart.

I also made a run to my shop, taking some stuff to sell and some stuff to scrap. Stuff is leaving the house, and eventually leaving the shop, which is a good thing.

Other than that, I can’t recall what else I did, even though I was busy and awake all day. Sometimes it be that way.

Today I’ll continue as I have been. We’ll see what gets done.

Work. Stack.

Friday. No worky, no stacky for me today, except stacking happy memories, I hope.

I will continue tidying the garage, though, at least enough to unfold a workmate to put a rifle on for scope mounting. Not work, more like play.

Hunting buddy is walking on air this morning after his success with the stag last night. I am delighted for him.

The night was short, the beers copious, and the weather appalling this morning at 0 dark thirty, so we each decided to sleep in. Brunch will be Iberico steaks, and I think some braised chicons, with potato gratin as accompaniments.

    But first, breakfast!

    Have a beautiful Friday.
