Sat. Oct. 17, 2026 – yep, more to do

By on October 17th, 2026 in culture, decline and fall

Cold. Windy. Dry. NICE. I don’t think it got above 77F yesterday and the wind blew most of the day. It was 63F when I went to bed. We are forecast for 50sF this weekend. Fall has arrived.

So of course, the last thing that happened yesterday was my tenant texting that the HVAC wasn’t blowing at the rent house. Yup. I was nearby so I checked. The blower motor wasn’t spinning and was too hot to touch. She can use the roll around unit if she needs to while we fix or replace the system. It’s old. And broke three times this year. It’s time to replace it.

I spent the afternoon before that doing pickups. Checked in with my previous auctioneer. Picked up a folding deck chair. I was hoping for teak, but it turned out to be just treated 2x lumber. Still, nice. Picked up the small chest freezer and took it to my shop. Spent some time there sorting and stacking for my next auction. Went by the secondary location and got the power cord I need for the golf cart charger. Trying to keep some momentum flowing.

There is always more to do. And more to stack.

Don’t falter.

  1. SteveF says:

Total compos mentis and totally mental now.

Nice pun, though note that all puns are atrocities, except for my own.

But I don’t know whether she’s mental now or simply determined to stick with the lie, either for the payout or because backing off now would make her look bad or something.
