And less sleep. Hot again. Humid again. We got some rain in the late afternoon which cooled things down briefly, but it was mid 80sF by nightfall. I was soaked with sweat working outdoors, even with the cloud cover.
After getting D2 to the dentist and then to school, and a one hour nap, I started my day.
I did my scrap run, then a trip to my secondary to use the dumpster, then a pickup (three laptop roll around standup workstation COW things – no batteries, but did include old HP laptops. Two running winXP and one Vista.) I spent the rest of the afternoon at the shop working to scrap out the COWs. Today I’ll see if the laptops boot. Maybe they’ll have decent specs as they don’t look as old as the OSs would imply?
When the rain started, it was time to head home for a meal I didn’t plan or purchase. Carry out indian. Delicious.
Today I’ll get the kid to her optometry checkup and then to school, then I’ll probably nap. I’m way behind on sleep and really feeling it with the heat and humidity. After that, it’s more time trying to get stuff out of the house, out of the shop, and sold – which entails a lot of moving stuff around, sorting, and organizing.
Or maybe I’ll just finish the gantry that I didn’t get to because of the rain shower…
I’m sure I’ll be working on something. And thinking about stacking.*

The early worm gets a haircut, and the gas struts for the fifth door of W1’s car replaced. Bonus- passed by the bakery for croissants for the mechanics, so got some for myself too! Will enjoy those later.
This evening will be evening two of red deer season. Didn’t see any game on evening one, but had beers and chat with the foresters and the other hunters. Learned things to my advantage. Meatspace, baby!
Tonight is bin night, so time to sort through the fridges and pantry to see what needs to go away. There are some yoghurts with a band of May 2025 that might be developing intelligent life. Still smell OK, and in an apocalypse, I wouldn’t hesitate, but Aldi is just down the road for the fresh fruits of civilisation, so in the bin they will go…

I’ve been thinking of it like renting trailers instead of buying one. I rent different types for different jobs, instead of having to make the job fit the trailer I own. I will probably continue renting equipment. Still, it would be SO CONVENIENT to just hop in and do some job and not worry about planning and cost.
One of the problems of owning a trailer is where do you park it when you are not using it? HOAs hate trailers with a passion, so does your local Karen.
