Cool start to the day but should be sunny and hot later.\u00a0\u00a0 Yesterday turned out ok for us, no rain, no bright sun for most of the day.\u00a0\u00a0 It was a bit sunny in the later afternoon.\u00a0 Hoping for similar today, but with a bit more sun.<\/p>\n
Did my two pickups on the south side of town.\u00a0\u00a0 Found a neighborhood I didn’t expect, with a very ‘out in the country’ feel, right in between the ghetto and the ‘hood.\u00a0\u00a0 Big lots, old homes, real country boys… guy had a bunch of great older reference books on “rebuild society” topics.\u00a0 Lots of tools, and clearly enjoyed his hobbies.\u00a0\u00a0 The other pickup was sort of “general merch” and is always good for some household item.<\/p>\n
The pickup nearest to me was a heavy steel door for the BOL, a bookcase for D2, and some other misc. stuff for some other projects.\u00a0\u00a0 Pickup truck is about 1\/3 loaded, waiting for the rest before heading up this weekend.<\/p>\n
And I’ll load up later, as we haven’t decided whether to head up tonight or tomorrow.<\/p>\n
Before that, I’ll\u00a0 be spending some more time trying to get at least the expensive PTZ camera to work with the new NVR.\u00a0\u00a0 Even at my hourly rate, it’s worth poking at it for a while.\u00a0\u00a0 I can do some at home, but will really need to head out to the site to find out if I can make it work.<\/p>\n
It would be nice to do some more cleanup and organizing this morning, but work slipped to today, so it is what it is.<\/p>\n
I’ll be taking some more stuff to stack at the BOL.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If the SHTF, “they” will definitely come looking for “it” for whatever value of “it” you like.\u00a0\u00a0 If people are hungry, they’ll look for food.\u00a0 If jones-ing, they’ll be looking for drugs or booze.\u00a0\u00a0 If it’s biggov, they’ll be looking for control, and we know what they’ll be coming for.\u00a0\u00a0 Split your stacks up.\u00a0\u00a0 Hide your tangibles.\u00a0\u00a0 Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.\u00a0\u00a0 Fallback positions are a good thing.\u00a0 So is ‘hiding in plain sight.’\u00a0\u00a0 Harden your heart, and your house.\u00a0 Be prepared to degrade gracefully.<\/p>\n
