May 19, 2023 &#8211; It&#8217;s a cruel, crazy, beautiful world&#8230; {it&#8217;s your world so live in it}"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cool, maybe raining.\u00a0\u00a0 Hope not, because it&#8217;s D1&#8217;s school beach day&#8230;\u00a0\u00a0 I hope it&#8217;s like yesterday, which got hot and sunny, before finally cooling off with some big fat rain drops after dark.\u00a0 I guess we&#8217;ll see.<\/p>\n<p>Did my errands yesterday, interrupted and bracketed by school events.\u00a0\u00a0 6th grade honors in the morning, 8th grade in the evening.\u00a0 Oh, and an eye exam for D2 in the afternoon.\u00a0 Some days, the more I have to do, the more I get done, some days it&#8217;s the opposite.<\/p>\n<p>I did a bit of social study during the school stuff.\u00a0\u00a0 What did the teachers value for their teacher&#8217;s choice awards?\u00a0 (quiet, tries hard, uses all the resources available, kind, helpful)\u00a0\u00a0 Why were girls featured at about a 3:1 or more ratio in all the pix and video?\u00a0 (they might actually outnumber the boys)\u00a0 Why if so?\u00a0 (no sports might mean boys self select to not attend this school)\u00a0 30% of 8th graders were taking dance classes.\u00a0 Only one was male.\u00a0 Salud and valedictorians were all girls.\u00a0 3rd year for one of the girls.\u00a0\u00a0 Couple kids had three years of straight As, 95% or better As at that.\u00a0 Pretty much everyone in the school would have been on the honor roll in a regular district school, so they made the honor roll harder, and made another level above that too.\u00a0\u00a0 Interesting stuff.<\/p>\n<p>Saw a couple of parents I haven&#8217;t seen in a while, since we didn&#8217;t do swim team with them last year.\u00a0 Our pool&#8217;s team was a great crossroads for several neighborhood groups.\u00a0 In theory, we&#8217;re doing swim team this year, but D2 isn&#8217;t going to enough practices, so I don&#8217;t think it will happen.\u00a0 I miss seeing some of the other dads at practices and meets.\u00a0 It would be nice to see them again.<\/p>\n<p>Today I&#8217;m trying to head to my client&#8217;s place.\u00a0 At least do some work.\u00a0\u00a0 No kid stuff with afternoon appointments on the calendar.\u00a0 I usually spend the afternoon there, and into the evening when my client comes home and we meet.\u00a0 He&#8217;s out of town though, so I should be able to &#8216;down tools&#8217; and head home at a decent time.\u00a0 We&#8217;ll see.\u00a0 Hope to get some stuff done.<\/p>\n<p>And maybe stack some greenbacks.\u00a0\u00a0 They are as much a prep as anything, and I&#8217;ve been using stacks to buy some needful things lately.\u00a0 Need to replenish what got used.<\/p>\n<p>Stack some resources.\u00a0 They always come in handy.<\/p>\n<p>n<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cool, maybe raining.\u00a0\u00a0 Hope not, because it&#8217;s D1&#8217;s school beach day&#8230;\u00a0\u00a0 I hope it&#8217;s like yesterday, which got hot and sunny, before finally cooling off with some big fat rain drops after dark.\u00a0 I guess we&#8217;ll see.<\/p>\n<p>Did my errands yesterday, interrupted and bracketed by school events.\u00a0\u00a0 6th grade honors in the morning, 8th grade in the evening.\u00a0 Oh, and an eye exam for D2 in the afternoon.\u00a0 Some days, the more I have to do,<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ttgnet.com\/journal\/2023\/05\/19\/fri-may-19-2023-its-a-cruel-crazy-beautiful-world-its-your-world-so-live-in-it\/\">&nbsp;&raquo;&nbsp;Read more about: Fri.
