Cool and damp this am.\u00a0\u00a0 It did clear out nicely last night, but got chilly too.\u00a0\u00a0 53F when I went to bed.\u00a0\u00a0 Today should be clear, but forecast is actually partly cloudy, 20% chance of rain.\u00a0\u00a0 I’m hoping for clear.<\/p>\n
Did the recap of yesterday in late comments.\u00a0\u00a0 Did a bunch of stuff despite the rain.\u00a0\u00a0 Caught 2 fish!\u00a0 Saw some birds I’d never seen before.\u00a0\u00a0 Bright orange Baltimore Oriels, and some pink finches, either Purple, Cassin’s, or House varieties.\u00a0\u00a0 I couldn’t see the crests to be certain.\u00a0 Pink!\u00a0\u00a0 Saw the usual blue jays, cardinals, and the other drabber birds that are always around too.<\/p>\n
Peaches are still on the tree growing.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 They are visibly bigger than last week.\u00a0 I hope whatever ate them last year misses them this time.\u00a0 It would be nice to actually get a few.<\/p>\n
Today should be cleanup, a few minor tasks, maybe some planting.\u00a0\u00a0 I’ll try to get together with the tree guy today too, and if it’s dry, I’ll mow the lawn again before I leave.<\/p>\n
We’ll be up with guests next weekend, so I have to leave the place “move in ready.”\u00a0\u00a0 Easier to do without a dog and two kids hanging around.<\/p>\n
The best prep I did this week was learning more about fishing and in particular, fishing this lake.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Stacking up knowledge and skills.\u00a0 Worth every minute.<\/p>\n
