Cold.\u00a0\u00a0 Cold.\u00a0 Cold.\u00a0\u00a0 BOL had a freeze warning last night.\u00a0 Houston was not supposed to get that cold, but 40F is still cold.\u00a0 It was 41F when I went to bed.\u00a0 Other than cold, should be nice.<\/p>\n
Finished up this trip to the BOL yesterday.\u00a0\u00a0 It was mainly a vacation, but I did make progress on a few things.\u00a0\u00a0 We had guests so I couldn’t do any heavy work or shut off the water, but there are always ‘fill in’ tasks.\u00a0 Both the me and the wife relaxed more than worked this trip.\u00a0\u00a0 I’m rationalizing that it’s important to do that to keep from getting burned out… yeah that’s it.<\/p>\n
Sometime in the last two weeks I completed my 57th trip around the sun.\u00a0\u00a0 Who would have thought I’d be here, or doing this?\u00a0\u00a0 Not me.\u00a0\u00a0 I didn’t think I’d make it past 26.\u00a0\u00a0 When I did, I realized I needed to change my life if there was a chance I’d live for a while longer.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 31 years later and I’m still here and still plan to continue.\u00a0\u00a0 But every day after 26 years is a gift.\u00a0\u00a0 Every single day.\u00a0\u00a0 The good, the bad, the ordinary, or the days that I cheated death.\u00a0 All free and all good.<\/p>\n
There’s a saying that you can’t kill a man who’s born to hang.\u00a0\u00a0 Maybe that’s it.\u00a0\u00a0 Somehow I doubt it though.<\/p>\n
In any case, I’ll take it.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And do what I can with it.<\/p>\n
To that end, there is a list of stuff that I should\/could\/might get done here.\u00a0\u00a0 I’ll be working that list.\u00a0\u00a0 It’s the usual stuff, with some additional home repair and maintenance thrown in.\u00a0 And stacking.\u00a0 Or at least moving stacks, and maybe some organization…<\/p>\n
Someone said 90% of success was just showing up.\u00a0\u00a0 Well, I’ve been showing up for 57 years now, and plan to continue.<\/p>\n
