Nov. 26, 2022 &#8211; gettin&#8217; stuff done"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cool and damp, but maybe not raining today.\u00a0 That would be nice.\u00a0 It stayed damp and misty all day yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>So I only did a little bit outdoors.\u00a0 I did break two more slabs of concrete from the front walk and move them to the pile of free concrete rubble.\u00a0\u00a0 Don&#8217;t know for sure, but I think some of the pile might have gone away.<\/p>\n<p>Spent some time chatting with a neighbor 2 houses down, who I don&#8217;t see often.\u00a0\u00a0 And chatted for a bit with my fisherman friend.\u00a0 I even got a few minutes to practice fishing between little jobs.\u00a0\u00a0 But mostly I was scraping ceilings.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 [that should be enough sentence fragments for a while&#8230; maybe I&#8217;ll do a run-on for balance]<\/p>\n<p>My wife found the telescope last night as we were putting away the movie night stuff, unfortunately it&#8217;s been cloudy so I didn&#8217;t reveal it to her on purpose, since there was nothing to see, but she <strong>was<\/strong> surprised.\u00a0 &#8220;Now THAT&#8217;S a big telescope!&#8221;\u00a0 Maybe we&#8217;ll get a break tonight and it will clear up.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It would be nice to at least look through it this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>There were a few more boats on the lake yesterday and the level is up, so they could use the community launch ramp next door.\u00a0 Otherwise I might not have noticed.\u00a0 I expected more people to come up for the holiday weekend, but it&#8217;s anything but &#8220;busy&#8221;.\u00a0\u00a0 I&#8217;m happy enough with that, we weren&#8217;t looking for a busy lake or a lot of people.\u00a0\u00a0 So far none of the holidays have been particularly busy that I could see.\u00a0\u00a0 Maybe on the other side of the lake the experience was different.\u00a0 In any case, I&#8217;m pleased.<\/p>\n<p>Turkey and leftovers were tasty.\u00a0\u00a0 Today D2 declared it was the best turkey every, although she prefers the &#8220;normal&#8221; way I make ribs.\u00a0\u00a0 Hooray for that.\u00a0 Now to learn about smoking as a preservation technique and not just for flavor.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe I&#8217;ll try salting some pork too.\u00a0 Hmm.\u00a0 Always good to learn new skills.\u00a0 Most of my chat with my fisherman friend was about making sausage.\u00a0 Time to start stacking up some more skills&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>And in case those skills don&#8217;t work out, stack some more food.\u00a0 It&#8217;s pretty cheap now, and will likely be very dear later.<\/p>\n<p>nick<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cool and damp, but maybe not raining today.\u00a0 That would be nice.\u00a0 It stayed damp and misty all day yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>So I only did a little bit outdoors.\u00a0 I did break two more slabs of concrete from the front walk and move them to the pile of free concrete rubble.\u00a0\u00a0 Don&#8217;t know for sure, but I think some of the pile might have gone away.<\/p>\n<p>Spent some time chatting with a neighbor 2 houses down,<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ttgnet.com\/journal\/2022\/11\/26\/sat-nov-26-2022-gettin-stuff-done\/\">&nbsp;&raquo;&nbsp;Read more about: Sat.
