Nov. 1, 2022 &#8211; Seems crazy that it&#8217;s November&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cool and damp.\u00a0 Hopefully clear, so I can get stuff put away.\u00a0 Yesterday was nice all day.\u00a0 Not a lick of wind after dusk though, until 8:30pm when a ghost of a breeze started up.\u00a0 It was just on the edge of sweaty with a long sleeve khaki shirt on&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Got my stuff done, and my display up.\u00a0\u00a0 Looked great, just like I&#8217;d hoped.\u00a0 Pulled back the overall stuff to focus on the pirate ship and it worked well.\u00a0 Didn&#8217;t quite get everything I&#8217;d have liked to do done, but that&#8217;s the breaks.<\/p>\n<p>Today will be cleaning up and putting away&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Followed by auction stuff all week.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been letting it slide, but I have to sell some stuff and move some stuff out of here.\u00a0\u00a0 Time to start thinking about Thanksgiving (we&#8217;re doing it with additional family at the lake) and even Christmas.\u00a0 Probably not a bad idea to get your shopping done early, if you can.\u00a0 Avoid the crowds, if there are crowds.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m of two minds about that.\u00a0\u00a0 One says &#8220;crash is coming&#8221; and this Holiday season will be a disaster for retailers.\u00a0 Majors are already cancelling orders and refusing shipments, so they think it will be a poor season too.\u00a0\u00a0 That COULD lead to deep discounts on non-core goods, ie deflation, if you&#8217;ve got the scratch to be a buyer.\u00a0 Or it could mean higher prices if demand is more than forecast and there are shortages of things to buy.\u00a0 Since I don&#8217;t have a crystal ball, or Gail for that matter, I&#8217;ll do what I always do- buy early for my own reasons.\u00a0\u00a0 Consider the possibilities, and act if that&#8217;s where your analysis leads you.<\/p>\n<p>Food prices continue to be low for some stuff, high for others, and subject to regional variation too.\u00a0\u00a0 If for some reason you are not involved in shopping for yourself and\/or your family, it&#8217;s still a good idea to be familiar with prices and availability.\u00a0\u00a0 Read the weekly ads.\u00a0\u00a0 Walk the aisles.\u00a0\u00a0 Know the challenges facing whoever does do your shopping.\u00a0 You can&#8217;t spot a good deal, if you don&#8217;t know what &#8216;normal&#8217; is.\u00a0 Good deals will be increasingly important if you want to maintain your current lifestyle&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>And if you find a deal, stack it up!\u00a0 &#8216;Cuz those shelves aren&#8217;t gonna fill themselves.<\/p>\n<p>nick<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cool and damp.\u00a0 Hopefully clear, so I can get stuff put away.\u00a0 Yesterday was nice all day.\u00a0 Not a lick of wind after dusk though, until 8:30pm when a ghost of a breeze started up.\u00a0 It was just on the edge of sweaty with a long sleeve khaki shirt on&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Got my stuff done, and my display up.\u00a0\u00a0 Looked great, just like I&#8217;d hoped.\u00a0 Pulled back the overall stuff to focus on the pirate ship and it worked well.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ttgnet.com\/journal\/2022\/11\/01\/tues-nov-1-2022-seems-crazy-that-its-november\/\">&nbsp;&raquo;&nbsp;Read more about: Tues.
