Mar. 12, 2021 &#8211; Just about one year since we shut down"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> Cool, humid, and possibly rainy.\u00a0 Yesterday was overcast with scattered drizzle around town.\u00a0 Nothing at the house though.<\/p>\n<p>I spent the morning looking at trucks online.\u00a0\u00a0 One of the reasons I was so ready to jump on that first truck was to avoid the huge time sink of looking and looking and looking.\u00a0\u00a0 I did a bit of reading about extended warranties (they aren&#8217;t, they are service plans usually) and what they cost.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 That first dealership wasn&#8217;t out of line with cost or coverage, although the company wasn&#8217;t in the top 5 of some random website review&#8230;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I&#8217;m going to back down the search a notch and do some of the things that are backing up.<\/p>\n<p>Although, if history serves as a guide, I&#8217;ll spend today pretty much like I spent yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Today is pretty much the one year anniversary of the start of the wuflu, china virus, chinky flu, asian asthma, etc. in America.\u00a0\u00a0 Funny thing is, the CDC staffers predicted very early on that we&#8217;d still be dealing with it at this point, and &#8220;possibly for years&#8221;.\u00a0\u00a0 They actually made a couple of pretty good predictions based on historical data and little else.\u00a0\u00a0 Then the politics started and we learned just how vile our &#8216;public servants&#8217; really are, and how little they think of us as individuals.\u00a0\u00a0 Of course, there are plenty of examples of WHY they should think little of individuals.\u00a0\u00a0 And there were and are a whole lot of people that have the right to remain silent, but not the ability.<\/p>\n<p>At some point in the next couple of days I&#8217;ll take a look at what went well with my planning and prepping, what got missed, and what didn&#8217;t work as planned.\u00a0 It is a dang strange zombie apocalypse when I can go to a thrift store, or order food delivered to my door, but hey, you play the cards you&#8217;re dealt.\u00a0 And, I&#8217;ve yet to shoot anyone, but I get daily use of the TP stash&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>That could always change.\u00a0\u00a0 Make sure you&#8217;re planning for the next one, as well as dealing with this one.\u00a0 Stack stuff.\u00a0 More stuff.<\/p>\n<p>nick <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> Cool, humid, and possibly rainy.\u00a0 Yesterday was overcast with scattered drizzle around town.\u00a0 Nothing at the house though.<\/p>\n<p>I spent the morning looking at trucks online.\u00a0\u00a0 One of the reasons I was so ready to jump on that first truck was to avoid the huge time sink of looking and looking and looking.\u00a0\u00a0 I did a bit of reading about extended warranties (they aren&#8217;t, they are service plans usually) and what they cost.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ttgnet.com\/journal\/2021\/03\/12\/fri-mar-12-2021-just-about-one-year-since-we-shut-down\/\">&nbsp;&raquo;&nbsp;Read more about: Fri.
