Jan. 29, 2021 &#8211; time to garden"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> Cool, clear, and windy.\u00a0 [38F at 6am- so COLD, clear, etc]\u00a0 It was a bit cool yesterday, especially overnight, but once the sun came out it felt like spring.<\/p>\n<p>And with spring in the air, a young man&#8217;s fancy turns to getting a garden in.<\/p>\n<p>But first, I spent all of yesterday at home, except when I drove to school to get child 2.\u00a0 I hit the Lowe&#8217;s on the way home to get some more of the bins I&#8217;m using to organize my food storage, and they\u00a0 had vegetable garden plants.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 So I bought a bunch.\u00a0\u00a0 They were well stocked on seedlings, and the seed display was full too.\u00a0 It seems a bit early to me, but I&#8217;m going for it.<\/p>\n<p>Sometime this weekend I&#8217;ll be planting all that stuff I bought.<\/p>\n<p>This time, I&#8217;ll use fresh seeds, and put hardware cloth over all the beds.\u00a0\u00a0 I&#8217;m hoping for much better results, because then I&#8217;ll know what to blame, and how to move forward.\u00a0\u00a0 &#8220;Gardening&#8221; is not my thing.\u00a0\u00a0 Trying to grow some food to supplement my stores for my family is.\u00a0 IE.\u00a0 it&#8217;s not a passion, it&#8217;s a chore.\u00a0 Still, I like to succeed when I try to do something.\u00a0\u00a0 So far my successes have been limited.\u00a0 The learning curve is much steeper than I could have imagined.\u00a0 Get started on your gardens, even if it&#8217;s just planning, and just a couple of pots or a window box.\u00a0 Grow something.\u00a0 You&#8217;ll be glad you did.<\/p>\n<p>Plan for the day is to continue getting stuff out of the house, continue getting my secondary location cleaned up, and continue with all the other myriad things that take\u00a0 my attention.\u00a0\u00a0 Including some more auction stuff.\u00a0\u00a0 I let a ton of stuff go by, but I did snag a couple of useful things.\u00a0\u00a0 I am focusing, little by little, on what&#8217;s most important.<\/p>\n<p>Time for\u00a0 a Costco order too.\u00a0 Instacart, here I come.<\/p>\n<p>Stack it up, flip it, rub it down, oh no, this world&#8217;s gonna kill me&#8230;\u00a0 Or something like that.\u00a0 I am a child of the 80s after all.<\/p>\n<p>Seriously though, start something this weekend that you&#8217;ve been meaning to get to.\u00a0 Time&#8217;s a wasting.<\/p>\n<p>nick <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> Cool, clear, and windy.\u00a0 [38F at 6am- so COLD, clear, etc]\u00a0 It was a bit cool yesterday, especially overnight, but once the sun came out it felt like spring.<\/p>\n<p>And with spring in the air, a young man&#8217;s fancy turns to getting a garden in.<\/p>\n<p>But first, I spent all of yesterday at home, except when I drove to school to get child 2.\u00a0 I hit the Lowe&#8217;s on the way home to get some more of the bins I&#8217;m using to organize my food storage,<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ttgnet.com\/journal\/2021\/01\/28\/fri-jan-29-2021-time-to-garden\/\">&nbsp;&raquo;&nbsp;Read more about: Fri.
