Sept. 13, 2020 &#8211; not even close to a Friday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> Hot and humid, but perhaps less so.\u00a0 I think Fall may have arrived, although my wife doesn&#8217;t think so.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t even think it got over 100F in my driveway yesterday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>It was still hot out.<\/p>\n<p>After spending the morning watching an auction close out (got a couple good things), I finally got out and did some stuff around the house.<\/p>\n<p>I cleaned the pool, and then got right to work on my Honda eu3000.\u00a0 The new\u00a0 battery, fuel petcock and filter, were installed.\u00a0 The fuel gauge turned out to be fine, the part I thought needed to be replaced was a separate part and just needed cleaning.\u00a0 It started right up and ran smooth for a short while.\u00a0 Then the roughness started.\u00a0 Looking at the carb, fuel was spitting out into the venturi part, and that would bog the engine.\u00a0 I decided to tear the carb down again and be certain it was clean.\u00a0 That took up the rest of the daylight so I&#8217;ll be finishing that reassembly today.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t find anything obviously wrong though.\u00a0 Next step is a little more trouble shooting, then a replacement carb.\u00a0 There is progress as it now runs, just not as well as I&#8217;d like.\u00a0 And it is worth spending some money on it, as it is a nice gennie.<\/p>\n<p>Also on the list for today is planting something&#8230; I&#8217;ve got a bunch of fall stuff I can plant,\u00a0 and want to get it in the ground.\u00a0 I&#8217;m going heavy on the seed, assuming I&#8217;ll have low yields like last time.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve also got a couple more &#8220;window boxes&#8221; to build and hang on the fence.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve had the material for months.\u00a0 Except the dirt.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll need to order some more dirt.\u00a0 Or use the dirt from the failed potato towers.\u00a0 Actually, that&#8217;s a good idea.\u00a0 I can order more dirt later.<\/p>\n<p>Like all my plans, we&#8217;ll see what survives contact with the day.<\/p>\n<p>What, if anything, have you guys and gals been doing to improve your position?\u00a0 I&#8217;d especially like to hear from anyone who Bob talked to about prepping directly, now that it&#8217;s a couple of years later&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>You know me, I&#8217;m going to keep stacking.\u00a0 And I think you should too.<\/p>\n<p>nick <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> Hot and humid, but perhaps less so.\u00a0 I think Fall may have arrived, although my wife doesn&#8217;t think so.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t even think it got over 100F in my driveway yesterday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>It was still hot out.<\/p>\n<p>After spending the morning watching an auction close out (got a couple good things), I finally got out and did some stuff around the house.<\/p>\n<p>I cleaned the pool, and then got right to work on my Honda eu3000.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ttgnet.com\/journal\/2020\/09\/13\/sun-sept-13-2020-not-even-close-to-a-friday\/\">&nbsp;&raquo;&nbsp;Read more about: Sun.
