June 1, 2020 &#8211; still locked down, but you wouldn&#8217;t know it"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> Hot, humid, and we&#8217;re on the edge of a storm system, so maybe rainy.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday was all those things and sometimes cool as well.<\/p>\n<p>I got some stuff done, mostly moving and organizing in the driveway.\u00a0 So much still to do.\u00a0 I guess that&#8217;s where I&#8217;ll start today.<\/p>\n<p>Dinner was steak from the freezer, cauliflower done like twice baked potatoes.\u00a0 My motivation to cook was low, my wife did the cauliflower.<\/p>\n<p>Kids spent as much time as possible in the pool, and I hope they never get tired of it.<\/p>\n<p>I did look around the gardens a bit.\u00a0 Potatoes are dying.\u00a0 No idea why.\u00a0 Corn is coming in, about a foot high now.\u00a0 I only planted a few stalks to see if it would grow and if the squirrels would get it all.\u00a0\u00a0 Harvested more sweet peppers.\u00a0 Tomatoes have flowers but I&#8217;m told it isn&#8217;t cold enough for them to actually get any more fruit this year.\u00a0 We&#8217;ll see.\u00a0 Broccoli is doing ok, cabbage looks like it&#8217;s coming along.\u00a0 Got 4 blueberries today.\u00a0\u00a0 Citrus is about the same as it was.\u00a0 Nothing on the peach or apple.\u00a0 Squash and\/or watermelon are still growing, I&#8217;ve lost track of which mound was which.\u00a0 I really should have made notes.\u00a0\u00a0 Grapevine is flourishing, I hope that means I&#8217;ll get some grapes this year.\u00a0 The other grapevine didn&#8217;t die, but it didn&#8217;t grow much, maybe it will recover next year.\u00a0 Obviously, my garden barely gives me any food at all.\u00a0 The learning curve is steep in this part of the country, and in my yard especially.\u00a0 Get started NOW.\u00a0 If you can&#8217;t plant, build beds and start work on fertilizer or compost.<\/p>\n<p>Summer&#8217;s here and so is the rioting.\u00a0 Didn&#8217;t get enough out of the shutdown and isolation so now we&#8217;re mixing in public and burning what businesses made it through.\u00a0 You&#8217;d almost think someone was pushing this along.\u00a0 I&#8217;m pretty sure OFD would have had some things to say about it.\u00a0 And while you&#8217;re thinking about the dead guy and the riots, ask yourself what&#8217;s different this time, from when the diversity hire shot an Australian housewife in her bathrobe.\u00a0 And, why does anyone outside of Houston or MN care this time?<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re out and about, keep your awareness and know a couple of alternatives to your travel routes.\u00a0 Arm up.\u00a0 Review the law in your state.\u00a0 Clean up your social media NOW, in case you have a problem later.\u00a0 This all goes double if your home or business is in the line of fire.<\/p>\n<p>And don&#8217;t forget that COVID is still out there, still spreading, and still sickening and killing people.\u00a0 We&#8217;ve got a brief pause before we start seeing cases related to all this public nonsense.\u00a0 Restock, refresh, restore.<\/p>\n<p>Keep stacking,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>nick <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> Hot, humid, and we&#8217;re on the edge of a storm system, so maybe rainy.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday was all those things and sometimes cool as well.<\/p>\n<p>I got some stuff done, mostly moving and organizing in the driveway.\u00a0 So much still to do.\u00a0 I guess that&#8217;s where I&#8217;ll start today.<\/p>\n<p>Dinner was steak from the freezer, cauliflower done like twice baked potatoes.\u00a0 My motivation to cook was low, my wife did the cauliflower.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ttgnet.com\/journal\/2020\/06\/01\/mon-june-1-2020-still-locked-down-but-you-wouldnt-know-it\/\">&nbsp;&raquo;&nbsp;Read more about: Mon.
