By on June 22nd, 2016 in dogs, science kits

09:33 – We got several hundred containers filled and labeled yesterday. More of the same the rest of this week. And another 3,000 bottles and caps showed up yesterday, just in time.

We’re getting a bit concerned about Colin. He turned five in February, which makes him a young middle-aged dog. We’re playing a lot of frisbee with him, and I noticed the other day that he was sometimes running with his back feet together. That may be just the way he chose to run that time, but it may also indicate hip problems, which Border Collies are prone to. The other night when I took him out last time to pee, instead of lifting his leg on the well casing as usual, he squatted like a girl dog. It may be nothing, or something minor like a muscle pull, but we’re going to keep an eye on him.

Maybe Colin no longer identifies as cis-male and is exploring other alternatives. Who are you to judge zir?

  2. nick says:

Having recently surgically repaired my dog’s knee ligament, I hope Collin is just suffering from a strain. It is certainly an unexpected expense.

And they charge an arm and a leg (pun sorta intended) to do vet surgery on animals now. I hope he’s OK.

WRT Colin: you might go for a Vet check. He could be having a bladder and/or colon problem; in addition to leg, hip, back problems. A set of x-rays might be in order, if for nothing more than to have a baseline to compare to. Also, a baseline blood panel.

curriculum vitae: in my high school days I became a certified Vet Tech. While my certification is long lapsed, I have kept up with the times and work closely with my veterinarians; 6 in the practice, most with their DABVP Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. Now I only foster and hospice cats, but I do keep up with the canine side.

Was that for investigating Cankles orifices, Mr. DadCooks?

Obola is spending millions on crimmigrants while the Marines have to go to the scrapyard to get planes . What a country! Plus, let’s plunk more billions into the F35.

Not fit to fly: Marines forced to refurbish old warplanes

The Marines are looking for a few good planes, and their search has taken them to an Arizona boneyard where the Corps’ old F/A Hornets have been gathering dust and rust for years.

The jets are being reclaimed and refurbished by Boeing after the service branch was caught short on planes because of long delays in the rollout of the much-awaited F-35.

Loretta ObolaLynch: Our most effective response to terror is compassion, unity, and love.

Plus, Obola is working overtime to cover Islam. Not gonna let Islam get blamed for the Orlando murderer’s massacre. The latest, he hated Latinos according to his “girlfriend”. Dude, WTF, over?

    lol!!!!!

*I endorsed Clinton for president for my personal safety. I write about Trump’s powers of persuasion and it is not safe to live in California if people think you support Trump in any way. Also, I’m rich, so I don’t want anything to change in this country. The rest of you might have a different risk profile.

    “Trump Lumps”

The comments are sorta interesting, per usual, with one of them spouting again the patent nonsense that if you don’t vote, you shouldn’t be complaining or even ALLOWED to complain. Fucking little fascist asshole. If our system is like unto the old Soviet Union, with only the CORRECT slate of candidates presented to us, to vote for any of them is to simply be a docile chimpanzee. And voting for the stale old “lesser of two evils” is to STILL vote for EVIL.

“Plus, Obola is working overtime to cover Islam. Not gonna let Islam get blamed for the Orlando murderer’s massacre.”

Of course. Either he’s sympatico with musloid terrorist scum, or he’s terrified of them.

Re: Scott Adams: “For example, both sides might agree that rocket launchers are a step too far.”

Not me. I don’t agree with that. If the gummint has them, I should be able to have them.

Scotty wants his cake and frosting and eating it, too; sooner or later, millionaire or not, he’ll have to step up and be counted.

I have posted here in the past in praise of the Ubiquiti Nanostation M2 as a wifi extender/wireless bridge/ seamless wire replacement.

I still think it’s an awesome tool for the money, and does it quite well and seamlessly.

BUT I’ve had to replace both of them at one site after our big storm. Considering they are rated for outdoor use, even encouraged for that use, they didn’t last very long. Both will enter their ‘recovery mode’ but neither will actually connect to the network. Not bricked exactly, but dead for RMA anyway.

Neat product, seems to be kinda fragile. Oh, and it uses a proprietary POE, so you must use their (included) injector.

Avoid cities and crowds, and especially cities and crowds in Europe and the UK. Fah as I know, Princess and wife here will be traveling and staying in very rural areas later this summer in the UK and Ireland and Brittany for the former, and then both of them in the western “Gaeltecht” of Ireland at the end. And they’re both pretty sizable North Murkan females and wife has a viz on her most of the time outside like she’s about to murderize somebody.

But rest assured, due to the “success” of the valiant and heroic Caliphate Warrior in Orlando, along with the fear and terror that he produced and the further encouragement and exhortations of ISIL/ISIS, we will see more of these attacks. ALL by musloids, but don’t hold your breath waiting for our rulers and media to call it like it is. Look for them, instead, to blame everybody and everything but, primarily firearms and their owners, and Christians, esp. Roman Catholics, for some odd reason. We even had one of our bishops doing that; but to be expected; most of them are modernist Novus Ordo lefties anyway, not much different from the mainstream Protestant denominations.

But, please come to Vegas. Bring your whole family plus lots of disposable cash. We’re trying to open a “premiere harp training” studio for wayward Princesses. Plus, we need to buy a larger Life Flight helicopter so Lamar Odom will fit after his next OD at the Bunny Ranch in Pahrump.

From the not like us department: Horror and hush-up in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Police and the local prosecutor’s office grudgingly confirmed that an investigation had begun into the incident. The victim: A mentally disabled 5-year-old girl. The alleged perpetrators: Three boys, ages 7, 10 and 14, from Sudanese and Iraqi immigrant families (predominantly Muslim) who have been in the country for less than two years — all but confirming that they are refugees.

“Jolene Payne, an 89-year-old retired nurse who lives at the complex” told Hohmann that she spotted one of the boys “taking pictures with a camera” outside the apartment complex’s laundry room. She went inside and found the 5-year-old naked with two of the younger boys naked standing over her. “The worst thing was the way they peed all over her clothes,” she recounted.

  21. OFD says:

The fact that the perps are of musloid origin from shit-hole sandbox regions is purely a coincidence. The assaults on the girl are entirely the fault of gun owners, Republicans and Catholics. Any evidence or facts to the contrary are absolutely verboten. Welcome to 1984 NewsSpeak and now for our regularly scheduled evening One-Minute-Hate.

The town’s “authorities” are minimizing the sexual abuse aspects of it. Whether that’s because the initial reports were overblown or because they’re toeing the PC party line remains to be seen.

    I know which way I’m betting, though…

  23. OFD says:

    “I know which way I’m betting, though…”

A pretty easy bet. And they’ll barely mention, if at all, the backgrounds on these rug rats and their families.

If it was three white kids who did it right after their day at RC parochial school and their parents were Republican Roman Catholic NRA members, the story would be blown up worldwide, with UN speakers condemning it and Obola holding a major press conference. The Dems in Congress would have another sit-down, wet their panties and thongs, and not be able to get up again. Ryan and Bonehead would be weeping crocodile tears and the Catholic bishops would be rending their garments and styling and profiling in sackcloth and ashes for at least a whole nooz day.

  24. brad says:

What’s going on in France at the moment is football hooliganism. The attacks by Russian hooligans got so out of hand that the EM threatened to disqualify the Russian team and send them home. Which is pure desperation, because lots of the hooligans don’t even have tickets to the games – that’s not why they came.

There are actually “training camps” for hooligans, and organizations behind them. It’s all for fun, their own sort of sport. Which would be fine if they would go out into an empty field and beat each other senseless. But no, they insist on doing this crap in the middle of cities, where innocents get caught up in the fray. Not to mention the vandalism that comes with the whole scene.

What I don’t understand is why the police aren’t better at keeping this under control. It’s not like the hooligans are showing up for the first time – this happens with every football EM and WM. Seems to me (armchair general) that the police and/or military should show up in their thousands, arrest all the idiots, and let them rot in jail.

Nota bene: Of course, other groups also take advantage of the chaos, which adds to the problem. But the root of it, at the moment, are the hundreds, maybe thousands of hooligans who have travelled to the area.

  25. OFD says:

Weren’t the British thugs infamous for this sort of thing originally? Are they still doing it, too? I remember reading an account of one of their groups working a ‘flying wedge’ formation in Rome years ago and just kicking the crap out of whoever got in their way.

  30. OFD says:

And I say, good bloody luck to Cankles and her goonz if they try to round up half a billion to a billion firearms in January; I wanna SEE that trick. In any case, they’ll just keep pushing and pushing and eventually they WILL have the civil war they’re evidently pining for and think they can win.
