- We're in the real end-game now. Two weeks left to finish the
book and send it off to O'Reilly's production folks. I have images left
to shoot, chapter lead-ins to write, a preface to write, edits to
incorporate, and a whole bunch of other stuff, some of which I probably
haven't thought of. I'd also like to get a few more hacks written.
And to top it all off, I've come down with some kind of bug.
- I'm still here, just barely keeping my head above water. My
goal was to have the book essentially complete by today. I didn't reach
that goal. I still haven't written the Preface or the four chapter
lead-ins. That's a couple days' work. I also have images left to shoot
and hacks left to write. I'm caught up on incorporating the edits and
suggestions I've received, although I haven't gotten all of those yet.
This book is definitely going to go right down to the wire, but it will
be done by the 10 April deadine one way or another.
Then I'll spend a couple days doing taxes, followed by a day of rest,
followed by jumping back into the new PC hardware book. There are also
a couple of other new books I want to pitch to O'Reilly, in addition to
one that's been on the back burner while I get Astronomy Hacks done.
